12. To get my magazine recognized I would probably promote my magazine online. I would have to think about this carefully as I would have to think about what sort of site I would advertise it on. I would probably promote it on a website that teenagers would visit frequently, this is because my target audience is teenagers. A website I could use could be an already existing college website, or even on I tunes or Spotify which are both music sites visited often by teenagers.

A way to encourage people to buy the printed version of the magazine instead of viewing the online version would be possibly to include competitions or vouchers for money off on certain things. For example, a voucher for Topman saying if you spend £20 then you get £5 off. Another deal you could do on a voucher inside the magazine could be something like ‘money off a trip to Alton Towers’.
Another reason why people would buy the magazine as a print copy and not just read it online is that they might want or require a copy to read and take places, on a journey for example. Whereas on the internet you can only read it from the computer.
I believe that it would be better to sell the college to other teenagers if the magazine was printed and everyone picked up the printed version. This is when word of mouth starts to come in, the magazine may start to get shown around to teenagers about how promising the college looks and more and more people will be interested.
Another reason why a magazine would be better as a print copy is that people are more likely to take notice of it. People just tend to ignore things on the internet whereas they would usually pick up a magazine and have a look.

On the other hand, there are also many benefits of promoting a college magazine via the web. One reason is that everyone has easy access to the internet and if a magazine is put on a popular website then it will be easily seen and viewed. Another positive of using the internet is that it wouldn’t use paper and would be better for the environment.
